Maricopa’s newest charbroiled burger joint, Carl’s Jr., received an “excellent” rating after its first health inspection. County food inspectors visited the restaurant at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, leaving with no violations found.

Carl’s Jr. recently reopened in town, marking its return after a two-week hiatus. The previous location, situated at 21000 N. John Wayne Pkwy., closed in December 2018 and was subsequently replaced by Wendy’s.

On the same day of Carl’s Jr.’s inspection, Yogurt Jungle also received an “excellent” rating. Both establishments showcased a strong commitment to food safety and quality.

Brian Mordt, a member of the InMaricopa team, started as a multimedia intern in October 2020. After graduating from Maricopa High School in 2021, his internship evolved into a full-time position. Currently studying at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Brian focuses on public safety stories. In his leisure time, he enjoys exploring new places with his family.
