PHOENIX — Three people have been hospitalized, one of them with life-threatening injuries, after a multi-vehicle crash on Saturday night, according to the Phoenix Police and Fire Departments.

At about 9:15 p.m., Phoenix police officers responded to the intersection of 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, where the collision occurred.

First responders discovered three injured individuals upon arrival. All three were transported to nearby hospitals. One of the victims is reported to have life-threatening injuries.

The Phoenix Fire Department indicated that two victims required extrication from a vehicle following the crash.

The intersection remains closed in all directions as police thoroughly investigate the cause of the incident.

Authorities have not yet disclosed further details or identified those involved in the crash.

This accident took place four miles north and 45 minutes after another crash involving five vehicles, in which one driver was detained under suspicion of DUI. The crashes are unrelated.
