Alabama woman brutally murdered with machete in shocking Walmart attack; husband in custody | Exclusive

A tragic incident unfolded early Friday morning as a woman was reportedly killed with a machete in the parking lot of Kingman’s Walmart. The south end of the parking lot was illuminated with police activity as local law enforcement responded to a homicide case. Deputy Kingman Police Chief Joel Freed revealed that the incident involved a couple from Alabama who were on their way to California in a U-Haul truck. Yellow tape cordoned off the area around the U-Haul, creating a crime scene rectangle towards Stockton Hill Road. Dispatch received multiple calls regarding an argument at 4 am that morning. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man next to the U-Haul holding a machete and a cell phone. This man was later identified as Anthony Goodin, 59. Despite dropping the weapon, Goodin failed to comply with officers’ commands and was ultimately subdued with a TASER. Meanwhile, life-saving efforts were made for the victim, Lynda Joyce Goodin, 53, at Kingman Regional Medical Center, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries. Freed disclosed that Goodin confessed to attacking the victim multiple times following a domestic dispute. He has since been apprehended and booked for first-degree murder at the Adult Detention Center. Reports indicate that the couple resided in Phoenix City, Alabama.
