WATCH: Officer’s Style Takes a Hit as Perp’s Escape Ends in Crash

Maricopa Police Department has released body-worn camera footage capturing the tasing of a Lakes man, Thomas Stanley Joseph Nadbielny, last year during a mental health intervention.
The incident occurred on October 16, when officers approached Nadbielny’s white Nissan Frontier, which he had backed into a police vehicle and then accelerated into another in an apparent attempt to escape.
As officers closed in, audio from the footage reveals an officer ordering Nadbielny to exit the vehicle. In response, Nadbielny threw a water bottle at the officer and made a finger gun gesture while exclaiming, “BOOM BOOM BOOM.”
At that moment, the officer deployed his taser, striking Nadbielny in the stomach and subsequently removing him from the truck. Multiple officers then assisted in restraining him, all while his vehicle’s radio played “$ave Dat Money” by Lil Dicky.
Following the altercation, Nadbielny was arrested and taken to the Pinal County Detention Center, facing charges including aggravated assault on an officer, criminal damage, and reckless driving.
A grand jury in Pinal County indicted him on March 3. During his arraignment on March 4 in front of Judge Kelly Neal III, Nadbielny pleaded not guilty. A trial date is yet to be announced.
