Trulieve Dispensary Pushes Back Opening Date
Maricopa residents seeking legal cannabis will have to wait a bit longer, as the anticipated soft opening of the Trulieve Cannabis Dispensary has been postponed. This morning at the location on John Wayne Parkway and Honeycutt Avenue, shelves were bare, contrary to expectations of a soft opening today.
The confusion stems from a November announcement made by former Trulieve employee Matthew Barajas, who indicated that the dispensary would open its doors on January 2, 2025, followed by a grand opening the following day. However, those plans have apparently changed.
Store Area Manager Teylor Brooks mentioned that while she couldn’t provide official comments, preparations were underway. She did not disclose any timeline for the store’s opening.
Nevertheless, local resident Michelle Hudson reported on Facebook that a manager informed her of a new opening date of January 8, with a grand opening set for January 11. It remains unclear whether Brooks was the manager she spoke to.
Trulieve’s media representatives have not responded to repeated inquiries regarding the store’s status. Once operational, this location will mark Trulieve’s 22nd in Arizona and the 227th nationwide.
