Massive 30-Pound Meth Bust Shakes Flagstaff Traffic Stop
A K-9 unit’s keen sense of smell led to a significant drug bust in Coconino County this weekend. Authorities reported that 30 pounds of methamphetamine were seized following a traffic stop.
The incident occurred on I-40 in Flagstaff Sunday afternoon at approximately 1:45 p.m. Deputies from the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office became suspicious after noting inconsistencies in the driver’s statements.
Upon receiving consent to search the vehicle, K-9 Officer Dex was deployed. The K-9 quickly detected the hidden meth, according to the sheriff’s office.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, faces charges of transporting dangerous drugs for sale. They are currently being held at the Coconino County jail.
