Puppies taken to their new home in Arizona with Santa's help

Maricopa County Animal Care and Control enlisted Santa Claus to assist in delivering adopted puppies to their new families this Christmas Eve.

In an effort to spread holiday cheer, Santa and Mrs. Claus provided a heartwarming service to local families in need of companionship. With puppies nestled in his arms, Santa made special visits to children excited to welcome their new furry friends.

Patricia Lara expressed deep gratitude for this delivery service, especially given her daughter’s recent challenges related to her father’s cancer diagnosis. “She’s going to remember this for the rest of her life,” Lara remarked. “It’ll be memories that she’ll keep forever.”

This Santa delivery initiative is part of a broader campaign by the county to connect pets with loving homes. Only families who had already visited the shelter and adopted a pet were eligible for this unique experience. This year marks the third annual collaboration between Maricopa County and Santa to bring joy to families during the festive season.

Despite these joyful moments, there remains a pressing need in the community. The county still has over 600 dogs awaiting adoption, highlighting the ongoing challenge of finding homes for abandoned pets.
