AMA Unveils 2024 Better Newspapers Contest and Advertising Excellence Winners

The Arizona Media Association (AMA) has announced the winners of the 2024 Better Newspapers Contest and the Excellence in Advertising Awards. The Green Valley News, led by publisher Dru Sanchez, achieved the highest cumulative score, earning the title of 2024 Arizona Media Organization of the Year. This prestigious recognition combines points from both the Better Newspapers Contest and the Excellence in Advertising Contest.
In individual categories, Hank Stephenson from Arizona Agenda was honored as the 2024 AMA Journalist of the Year. Meanwhile, Kelly Presnell of the Arizona Daily Star received the title of Photographer of the Year for the seventh consecutive year, showcasing her continued excellence in visual journalism.
Additionally, Marithza Diaz from the Herald/Review was recognized as the 2024 AMA Account Executive of the Year. The Washington Newspaper Publishers Association played a crucial role in judging the various categories this year.
