West Valley Eatery Creates Unforgettable Birthday Surprise for Local Boy

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — A unique birthday celebration for a 5-year-old named Noah unfolded at a local Chick-Fil-A, thanks to a creative idea from his mother.
“He keeps us on our toes, he’s a good kid,” said April Matta, Noah’s mother. Known for her humor, Noah’s personality has brightened their lives since his birth. His affection for Chick-Fil-A sparked an unconventional birthday plan.
April, who is also a photographer, proposed a photoshoot at the restaurant. “I thought it was a crazy idea, but I decided to ask,” she recounted.
After approaching the restaurant’s manager, Naomi Pomaio, April received a warm response. “Heck yeah! That’d be so cool!” Pomaio replied enthusiastically.
Pomaio, managing the Goodyear Chick-Fil-A for nine years, shared that this was a first for her. “If you can be part of someone’s joy, why not?” she said, emphasizing her desire to create memorable moments.
The photoshoot transformed into a full-scale celebration, with staff members joining in to make Noah feel special. “They didn’t just let us take photos; they celebrated him,” April noted, describing the treats Noah received: ice cream, cookies, French fries, and lemonade.
Feeling like a superstar, Noah relished every moment, making it a day his mother would cherish. “I hope that the Manager, Bruce, is proud of his team,” April added, acknowledging the staff’s kindness.
Pomaio remarked, “There’s good in the world, and it starts with you.” The experience was as uplifting for her as it was for Noah and April.
In the end, the celebration was about more than just a birthday; it highlighted how simple acts of kindness can create lasting joy. April reflected on the day, “I think they’re some of my most favorite pictures.”
