Vote for Your Favorite Witty ADOT Safety Message to Brighten Arizona’s Roadways!
PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is inviting residents to participate in selecting safety messages for the state’s highways. This year, the department received over 2,500 submissions for its annual Safety Message Contest, a notable increase in community engagement.
The contest, now in its eighth year, has culminated in a shortlist of ten standout messages that reflect the insights and creativity of Arizonans. Voting is open until Tuesday, August 20, at azdot.gov/SignContest. The two most popular messages will be prominently displayed on ADOT’s overhead signage across the state.
ADOT Director Jennifer Toth emphasized the importance of these community-driven messages. “Thousands of Arizonans submitted thoughtful and engaging messages that highlight safe driving practices, such as avoiding speeding and not texting while driving,” she remarked. Toth hopes the initiative will facilitate ongoing discussions surrounding safe driving habits among citizens.
The ten finalists have been selected, and Arizonans are encouraged to review them and cast their votes. Such engagement not only fosters a sense of community but also promotes safety on the roads.
