Valley comic book-themed restaurant closing, auctioning off items

PHOENIX — The comic-book themed restaurant ComicX, located at Desert Ridge Marketplace, is set to close its doors, prompting an online auction for its extensive collection of pop culture memorabilia.

Since opening in 2019 in an 8,000-square-foot venue, ComicX has become a unique destination for fans of comic books and movies. However, its inventory is now being auctioned off, with bids to be placed until March 4.

All items must be removed from the premises by March 6. Among the eclectic offerings are items tied to iconic franchises such as “Star Wars,” “Harry Potter,” and “Spider-Man.”

Notable pieces in the auction include a life-sized Chewbacca costume, a bust of Skeletor, and a statue of Kung-Fu Panda, alongside a portrait of R2-D2.

For those interested in previewing the items, an in-person viewing opportunity is available on March 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To access the auction inventory, participants can find details online before bidding concludes on March 4 at noon.
