Traffic Changes on RED: City Responds to Shortcut Overload
A traffic control change is on the horizon for residents of Rancho El Dorado. City officials have announced measures to mitigate the impact of non-residents navigating through local streets to evade construction delays on Smith-Enke Road.
New traffic warning signs have been installed along Rancho El Dorado Parkway, specifically near West Placone Road and just west of Goles Drive. These signs indicate that traffic control changes will be in effect from today until September 19.
City spokesperson Monica Williams stated, “The city and the HOA are in communication and working together to lessen the impact of non-Rancho El Dorado residents utilizing the streets through the community.” This initiative comes as a response to concerns about increased traffic during roadwork at the Smith-Enke intersection.
While specifics regarding the changes were not disclosed to avoid confusion over designated detours, Williams assured residents that they will notice the temporary adjustments soon. “It will be pretty clear when they go up,” she remarked.
Residents are encouraged to navigate around the affected area by using Honeycutt Road and heading north on John Wayne Parkway to avoid lane restrictions on Smith-Enke Road.
