Temperatures Plunge into the 60s This Tuesday
PHOENIX — Daytime temperatures are set to return to normal as a cold front moves through northern Arizona. Starting Tuesday, highs will reach the 60s in the lower desert regions while northern areas will experience temperatures in the 40s and 50s. While sunny skies can be expected, strong gusts of 25-35 mph in northern regions will contribute to a chill in the air. Significantly, no precipitation is anticipated.
Overnight lows from Tuesday into Wednesday will plummet below freezing in areas such as South Central Pinal County, Southeast Pinal County, the Tohono O’odham Nation, and the Tucson Metro Area. These sub-freezing conditions pose a risk of frost and freeze damage to sensitive crops and unprotected outdoor plumbing.
As the week progresses, temperatures are forecasted to rise slightly, with dry conditions prevailing for the next seven days across the state.
