A three-car crash occurred on Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway late last night, with authorities suspecting an impaired teenage driver as the cause. The incident unfolded near Maricopa Groves Parkway around 8:49 p.m. according to Phoenix Regional Dispatch.
Maricopa Police Department officers were quick to initiate a DUI investigation on 18-year-old Ricardo Martinez. Reports indicated that during the field sobriety test, Martinez stumbled and fell, prompting officers to place him in handcuffs.
According to MPD spokesperson Quinn Konold, Martinez was processed and cited for misdemeanor DUI. “The impairment was a factor in the collision,” Konold confirmed.
