PHOENIX — Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue to affect south-central Arizona tonight, primarily over higher terrain areas north and east of Phoenix.

As drier air moves into the region starting Friday, rain chances will decrease, retreating to the higher terrain areas. This pattern will persist into the weekend.

Temperatures are expected to rise, reaching near or slightly above 110 degrees in the lower deserts by Saturday. Here’s the detailed forecast:

THURSDAY: 106/89, Mostly sunny, 30% chance of storms

FRIDAY: 109/91, Mostly sunny

SATURDAY: 112/91, Mostly sunny

SUNDAY: 110/90, Mostly sunny

MONDAY: 109/90, Mostly sunny, 20% chance of storms
