SURPRISE, Ariz. — A person was shot multiple times on Grand Avenue in Surprise on Saturday afternoon, according to the Surprise Police Department.

First responders arrived shortly after 2 p.m. at the scene near 163rd and Grand Avenues. They discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and immediately started CPR.

According to police, numerous witnesses suggested the shooting might have been connected to a road rage incident.

A suspect has been taken into custody, authorities confirmed.

All lanes on 163rd Avenue, from Grand Avenue to Pat Tillman Boulevard, remain closed.
