Video released of Bissonnette assault at Scottsdale restaurant, suspect indicted

PHOENIX — Former hockey player Paul Bissonnette was assaulted by a group of men at Houston’s restaurant in Scottsdale on November 24. Footage appears to show Bissonnette, also known as “Biz Nasty,” being punched, kicked, and ultimately thrown to the ground while trying to defend a wait staff member being harassed.

The violent altercation escalated outside as customers fled from the scene, and surveillance footage captured the confrontation spilling into the parking lot. Bissonnette initially approached the group but found himself outnumbered. Although he attempted to flee, he was quickly overpowered and assaulted by multiple assailants.

In a recent statement, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced that Sean Daley has been indicted for his role in the assault, which was characterized as causing significant injury to Bissonnette while he was impaired. Daley faces charges of felony aggravated assault. Other suspects, including Danny Bradley, Henry Mesker, John Carroll, Edward Jennings, and William Carroll, are also under investigation, with some facing felony charges.

Bissonnette played for the Arizona Coyotes from 2009 to 2014, participating in 187 games and accumulating seven goals and 14 assists. After retiring from professional hockey, he transitioned into broadcasting and co-hosts the widely popular “Spittin’ Chiclets” podcast, alongside various roles in hockey analysis.

In a concerning revelation, a college sophomore named Carter recognized one of the suspects, Danny Bradley, in relation to an incident he experienced days earlier at Raven Golf Club. During that incident, Bradley allegedly punched Carter after refusing to leave the clubhouse. Surveillance footage confirmed the confrontation, but by the time police arrived, all individuals involved had left the scene.

Phoenix Police are investigating potential connections between the two assaults. Officials have stated they are coordinating efforts to resolve both cases, ensuring adherence to the rights of both victims and suspects.
