Drying out and heating up this week

PHOENIX — Monday’s weather in Phoenix focuses on showers and thunderstorms primarily south and southeast of the area. Drier air will shift these weather chances solely to eastern Arizona starting Monday.

Expect temperatures a few degrees above normal at least through midweek due to high pressure positioned east of the region.

Hotter temperatures are anticipated in the latter part of the week and into the weekend. There’s potential for showers and storms to return to the lower deserts next weekend.
