Scorching Heat on Monday, Mid-Week Storms Loom

Record highs will be in jeopardy through Monday. Here’s how hot it will get.
PHOENIX — Phoenix tied the record high temperature of 116 degrees, matching the 1975 record.
Daily afternoon storm chances continue this week, predominantly across the mountains and near Tucson.
In the Valley, the big story for Monday is the excessive heat warning, which extends until 8 p.m. on Monday. Daily highs will range from 114-116, putting records in jeopardy.
An incoming disturbance next week could trigger a more active monsoon period from Tuesday through Thursday.
