Rep. Crane Applauds Court Victory Against Biden Admin’s Attempt To Sell Border Wall Materials

By Daniel Stefanski |

An Arizona Congressman expressed satisfaction with a recent court ruling concerning the sale of border wall materials by the outgoing presidential administration. U.S. Representative Eli Crane praised the decision from the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas in the case The General Land Office of the State of Texas v. Biden. The court ruled against the Biden administration’s initiatives to sell unused border wall materials before President-Elect Donald J. Trump assumes office.

Judge Drew B. Tipton approved the plaintiffs’ Motion for Preliminary Injunction, prompting Crane to declare, “Solid victory. Thanks to President Trump, our border will be secure again. Arizonans can’t wait.”

President-Elect Trump hailed the ruling as a significant win for national security. He stated, “BREAKING: In a major, crucial WIN for America… a Federal Judge in Texas has PROHIBITED the Biden Administration from selling any materials designated for the Border Wall.” He criticized the Biden administration, alleging it had undermined border security. Trump also noted an investigation into the selling of the materials, claiming it would expose corruption within the Democratic Party.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton added that they successfully blocked further disposal of border wall materials ahead of Trump taking office. He stated, “This follows our major victory forcing Biden to build the wall, and we will hold his Administration accountable.”

Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen commented on the ruling, remarking, “Conservative AGs matter.”

The court’s decision followed a report indicating that the Biden administration was moving to auction unused border wall materials shortly before Trump’s inauguration. These materials were remnants from the first Trump administration, lingering after Biden halted wall construction soon after his inauguration in early 2021.

Trump previously criticized Biden’s actions, claiming they were not only economically irresponsible but also potentially criminal. He stated, “The administration is trying to sell it for five cents on the dollar – knowing that we’re getting ready to put it up.”

Former Arizona Governor Doug Ducey called Biden’s actions reckless, asserting, “This decision from President Biden is reckless, will make Arizonans less safe, and should be reversed – immediately.”
