PHOENIX — A persistent warming trend is pushing temperatures toward record highs this week, particularly by Wednesday. Meteorologists are predicting highs in the upper 70s to low 80s throughout the Valley, significantly above the typical seasonal average of 65 degrees.

Across Arizona, temperatures could exceed average norms by 10 to 20 degrees. This unusual warmth for December is expected to last through Saturday, with a continued dry spell anticipated over the next week, accompanied by generally light winds.
