Our Lady of the Lake Wraps Up Successful ‘Diaper Drive’ for Child & Family Resources Nonprofit
A community-driven diaper drive has gained momentum at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Lake Havasu City since its launch in mid-August. Collaborating with the nonprofit Child & Family Resources, the church aims to support families with young children by collecting essential baby products.
Liz Amaro, an employee involved with the initiative, shared her excitement about the overwhelming response. “I walked into the church this morning and the box is just overflowing,” she remarked, highlighting the generosity of the local community.
The drive specifically requests new and unopened items, including baby wipes and cloth diapers. Although all sizes are welcome, there is a particular need for sizes 4 to 6. Donations can be placed in a clearly labeled box located in the church’s narthex.
Amaro emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “As a church, it’s really important that we help support families within our community.” The program not only aids the nonprofit’s Healthy Families initiative but also strengthens community bonds by assisting new and expecting families.
Contributions to the drive will be accepted until its conclusion on Sunday. For those wishing to participate, Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church is located at 1975 Daytona Ave, and additional information can be obtained by contacting the parish office at 928-855-2685.
