A motorcyclist was hospitalized following a crash on State Route 347 near Riggs Road on the afternoon of October 10, 2024. This incident marked the second motorcycle-related emergency reported that day.

Emergency responders received the call at 1:37 p.m., causing a significant slowdown in the southbound traffic on SR 347, just north of Riggs Road.

Initial observations from reporters at the scene suggested that the motorcyclist may have crashed independently, without involvement from other vehicles. However, a spokesperson for the Gila River Police Department was unable to confirm this detail.

Witnesses described seeing five cars pull over shortly after the crash occurred, noting that none of these vehicles appeared damaged.

Bystanders provided assistance by shielding the injured motorcyclist with a sunshade until Gila River Fire and EMS arrived at 1:38 p.m.

Paramedics promptly placed the motorcyclist on a stretcher and transported him to a local hospital, with the ambulance leaving the scene at 1:47 p.m.
