Javier Alzuhair-Sainz, a 16-year-old from Tortosa, has been located after being missing for over a month. His mother, Ivette Sainz-Tapia, confirmed that he was found and arrested in the Homestead neighborhood on September 12, 2024.

Alzuhair-Sainz disappeared from his home around 10 p.m. on August 3, leaving with two pillowcases filled with clothes. Sainz-Tapia believes he left in order to evade a juvenile court date scheduled for the next day. The last confirmed sighting of the teen was at Sabor a La Michoacana in Coolidge on August 12.

According to Maricopa Police Department spokesperson Monica Williams, Alzuhair-Sainz is “no longer listed as a runaway/missing person.” However, due to his status as a minor, specifics regarding his arrest and any charges filed against him are not publicly available.
