Mark Lamb ceremonially signed off as Pinal County Sheriff just after midnight on New Year’s Day, concluding an eight-year tenure as the region’s top law enforcement officer. In an emotional farewell shared on X, he announced the end of his law enforcement career, expressing deep gratitude to his family, command staff, and the community. “Thank you does not even begin to justify my gratitude,” he stated.

Lamb, known by his radio callsign ‘Pinal One,’ recognized the contributions of various law enforcement personnel during his transmission. He concluded his remarks by asking dispatch to signify his departure with the code 10-7, indicating he was “Out of service” for the final time.

Former gubernatorial candidate Karrin Taylor Robson praised Lamb’s dedication, emphasizing that Arizonans are safer because of his work. “He’s been one of the top advocates in the country for dealing with the problems on our border,” Robson stated. Her sentiments of appreciation reflect a broader acknowledgment of Lamb’s contributions over the years.

In a December interview, Lamb indicated that he would not pursue further political office after losing the primary election to Kari Lake. However, he intends to remain active in border security issues. Currently, he collaborates with the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) to raise awareness about border concerns.

Looking ahead, Lamb expressed his willingness to assist the incoming Trump administration with its border security initiatives. “I hope to help with policies that aim to address the border crisis,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to work alongside lawmakers to enact effective immigration legislation.
