Maricopa Crowned as Arizona’s Most Affordable Suburb
Maricopa has been named the most affordable suburb in Arizona, according to a recent ranking by moveBuddha, a relocation data clearinghouse based in Athens, Georgia.
The organization analyzed over 200,000 relocation searches in 2024, identifying 43 suburbs across the United States that exhibit significant job growth and interest from incoming residents.
“Quintessentially American, suburbs continue to attract movers across the country, but some are more popular than others — and some have better job prospects too, especially those around Phoenix,” said Kristen Klepac, a public relations and marketing manager with Green Flag Digital.
In Arizona, Maricopa, Goodyear, and Surprise emerged as not only popular destinations but also expansive job markets.
The average home price in Maricopa is approximately $361,600, significantly lower than Goodyear’s average of $479,371. This affordability is a key factor driving relocation to Maricopa.
The Phoenix metropolitan area, where these suburbs are located, experienced a job growth rate of 2.3% from August 2023 to August 2024, surpassing the national average of 1.5%.
Goodyear stands out as the most in-demand suburb, boasting 1.42 searches for moving there for every outgoing search.
Klepac noted that Maricopa, Goodyear, and Surprise all shared a robust job growth rate of 2.3% during the observed period.
