Adriana Carpio-Solis has officially stepped into her new role as the city clerk for Casa Grande, marking a significant career advancement. Previously serving as the deputy city clerk for Maricopa, Carpio-Solis began her new duties yesterday, following the retirement of Gloria Lejia.

Carpio-Solis has been preparing for this transition since March 28, training alongside Lejia, who retired after an impressive 35-year tenure, 27 of which were spent in Casa Grande. In 2017, Carpio-Solis received the City of Maricopa’s mid-management Award of Excellence, a testament to her dedication and performance.

As city clerk, she will oversee crucial functions related to city governance, including organizing notices for council meetings, maintaining official documents, facilitating election processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and city charters. Her selection followed a rigorous national recruitment process, where she emerged as the top candidate among five finalists.

Carpio-Solis has deep roots in municipal service, having worked as deputy city clerk since 2013. She holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles, and possesses several professional certifications, including Certified Municipal Clerk and Certified Municipal Election Official.

Casa Grande City Manager Larry Rains expressed enthusiasm over Carpio-Solis’s appointment, stating, “Her extensive experience and commitment to municipal service make her an excellent fit for this position.” As she takes on her new responsibilities, the community can expect a continued emphasis on transparency and efficiency in governance.

Lejia’s retirement marks the end of an era, and her contributions to the city have set a high standard. Casa Grande wishes her well as she embarks on this next chapter of her life.
