Live Updates: Intense Dust Storms Sweep Across the Valley

A series of storms are sweeping through Arizona on Sunday, prompting weather advisories and warnings across multiple counties.

Pinal County has been placed under a Dust Storm Advisory until 8 p.m. Local authorities caution that high winds could carry dust into the Valley. Additionally, outflow winds might generate new storms in the area.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms are expected to avoid the Phoenix area. However, live radar monitoring remains crucial.

On Sunday, Phoenix recorded a scorching high of 111 degrees Fahrenheit. Forecasters predict similar temperatures between 110-115 degrees in the coming week, with an excessive heat advisory anticipated for the weekend.

Thunderstorms are currently impacting parts of Pinal and Gila counties. At 5:02 PM MST, NWS Phoenix confirmed that the storm activity is likely to stay away from the Phoenix Metro area.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Casa Grande, Arizona City, and Toltec. This warning will last until 5:15 PM MST.
