Holland Community Center Presents 5th Annual Glass Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser

The Holland Community Center is set to host its 5th annual Glass Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser from October 25-27. This event has become a staple in the community, showcasing hundreds of unique, hand-blown glass pumpkins crafted by acclaimed artist Greg Tomb.

The Glass Pumpkin Patch will take place at the Holland Community Center, located at 34250 N. 60th Street in Scottsdale, Arizona, operating daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds from pumpkin sales will benefit the Center’s efforts to promote arts, education, and community engagement in the Desert Foothills.

Greg Tomb’s fascination with glass art began in his childhood during visits to the Corning Museum of Glass. He later studied glassblowing at Hartwick College and has worked at various glass studios. Notably, Tomb gained experience as a production glassblower at Simon Pearce, a prestigious glassmaking company. Since 2014, he has participated in numerous juried art shows, earning accolades such as “best in glass” and has been featured prominently in art festivals and exhibitions across the country.

Tomb’s artistic process is multifaceted, incorporating traditional glassworking techniques while continuously exploring innovative methods. His commitment to sharing his skills is evident as he leads classes nationwide, from the Bay Area Glass Institute in California to his role as artist-in-residence in Johnsburg, New York. Currently, Tomb operates Arizona Glassblowing Studio as the artist-in-residence at the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak.

Located in North Scottsdale, the Holland Community Center plays a vital role in supporting arts and culture. Formerly known as the Foothills Community Foundation, the Center provides a range of programs, including art classes and performing arts events, all while relying solely on donations to sustain its operations.
