Elias Weiss has carved a niche in journalism with a varied and successful career spanning numerous prestigious outlets. He earned his degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas and began his reporting journey at the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
Weiss’s leadership skills shone brightly when he took on the role of managing editor at the Chatham Star-Tribune. Under his guidance, the publication won the title of Best Weekly Newspaper in Virginia in 2019, an accolade granted by the Virginia Press Association.
His dedication to quality journalism earned him further recognition in 2020 and 2021 when he was honored with four first-place awards in categories such as government reporting, breaking news, and headline writing, solidifying his reputation among state journalists.
Transitioning into investigative reporting, Weiss contributed to notable publications such as Phoenix New Times and The Daily Beast before joining InMaricopa as managing editor in June 2023. He continues to engage with the community by discussing Arizona politics on KFNX/CBS 1100 AM radio every Thursday from 4-6 p.m.
Weiss’s insights have also reached a wider audience through appearances on platforms like KAWC NPR in Yuma, HBO, and GB News, showcasing his commitment to informative journalism in the state.
