Havasu artist Alex Compomizzi grows business, following in community art scene

A local fast food employee in Lake Havasu City is gaining recognition in the artistic community. Alex Compomizzi, 29, has established himself as a talented painter while working at the In-N-Out Burger in the city.

Compomizzi has contributed to Lake Havasu’s Downtown district by creating a mural of the iconic London Bridge on Main Street and has also worked with GraceArts Live Theater. His artistic journey began with drawing on his parents’ walls, evolving from sketches of anime characters to inspired creations influenced by Disney and classic cartoons.

Having lived in Havasu for 20 years, Compomizzi’s artistic career took flight about five years ago. His works—ranging from canvas paintings to stickers and digital art—have gained popularity, leading him to be recognized as a “Featured Artist” at the Downtown Havasu’s “First Fridays” event.

“It was one thing that I was naturally good at,” he noted. Compomizzi expressed confidence in his ability, deciding to turn his passion into a business. “I’ve been very fortunate in that respect,” he added.

Although he attended Lake Havasu High School, he initially focused on performing arts. His pursuit of artistic skills brought him to the AMDA Performing Arts College in California. “I think of those as my two halves,” Compomizzi said, referring to his dual interests in performing and visual artistry.

Looking ahead, Compomizzi hopes to further establish his art career in Havasu. He envisions producing and marketing a variety of artwork, including coloring books and paintings. His dedication to both arts reflects his aspiration to make art a full-time profession.
