Grant Unlocks New Horizons for Health Care Access
The Southwest Center in Phoenix has been awarded a $25,000 grant from Health Care Advocates International’s The HCAI Fund. This funding aims to enhance the center’s ability to offer affordable and inclusive health services, particularly for diverse communities. The grant will help cover out-of-pocket costs for patients and expand access to vital care, making a significant impact on community health.
Since its inception in 2017, HCAI has provided over $2 million informally to various initiatives. In 2023, The HCAI Fund was formally established to financially support 501(c)(3) organizations dedicated to empowering and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. This new direction focuses on organizations that promote safety, wellness, and equality.
Eligible applicants are those addressing fundamental needs, combating stigma, and fostering educational opportunities, among other priorities. The Fund is currently open for applications for its next grant cycle, which will close on September 30.
