Fountain Hills Theater to welcome Elias Matthews

Elias Matthews, recognized for his compelling performances as Eugene Jerome in Neil Simon’s autobiographical trilogy—Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues, and Broadway Bound—has been appointed the new Technical Director at Fountain Hills Theater (FHT).

The 23-year-old Matthews expressed enthusiasm about the role, citing valuable guidance from industry veterans Ross Collins and Peter Hill during his transition.

With an impressive acting background, Matthews has graced various stages across the Valley. His noteworthy performance as Christopher in FHT’s production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time earned him an AriZoni Award nomination. His talent has also shone in productions at The Phoenix Theater Company, Theatre Artists Studio, Queen Creek Performing Arts Center, and Entertainers’ Theatre Collective.

In addition to his acting career, Matthews co-founded Valley Players, a Scottsdale-based theater company dedicated to contemporary and modern productions.
