Less storms, higher temperatures as July wraps up

PHOENIX — A wave of blowing dust swept through the Valley on Sunday afternoon, instigated by thunderstorms in Pinal County.

While the White Mountains and Tucson experienced light sprinkles and isolated storms, the rest of Arizona remained predominantly dry and hot.

As we embark on a new work week, the Valley carries a 10 percent chance of showers and storms. The majority of activity is expected to concentrate in the White Mountains, Southeast Arizona, and Northern Arizona’s higher terrains.

High temperatures are set to escalate as August begins. The first weekend of August might see the thermometer reaching between 112-115 degrees in the Valley.
