Familiar face to Phoenicians to be US Capitol Police chief

Former interim police chief of Phoenix, Michael Sullivan, has been appointed as the chief of the United States Capitol Police. The announcement was made public in a recent news release.

This decision follows Sullivan’s withdrawal from consideration for the Phoenix position approximately two months ago. According to the release, the Board expressed confidence in Sullivan’s experience and leadership abilities. They emphasized that he is well-suited to protect congressional processes and ensure their smooth operation.

“The Congressional Community is fortunate to have a seasoned professional who will lead with integrity and accountability,” the release stated. Sullivan is set to be sworn in on June 30.

Meanwhile, the search for a new chief in Phoenix has resumed.
