Elementary Schoolers Hospitalized After Scooter Collision with Car in Glennwilde

Two elementary school children were involved in a collision with a vehicle while riding a scooter in Glennwilde this morning.

The incident occurred around 7:39 a.m. at the intersection of Stonegate Road and Alan Stephens Parkway, located approximately 270 yards west of A+ Charter School. According to Maricopa Police Department spokesperson Monica Williams, the vehicle was traveling at a low speed when it struck the scooter.

Emergency services promptly transported both children to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure. Williams confirmed that neither child sustained serious injuries in the accident.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is currently ongoing.
