Don’t Miss It: VP Hopefuls Walz and Vance Face Off in Debate on Oct. 1
WASHINGTON — Ohio Republican Senator J.D. Vance has officially confirmed his participation in a vice presidential debate against Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz, scheduled for October 1. The debate will be broadcast on CBS News and will take place in New York City.
Walz accepted the invitation on Wednesday, paving the way for this significant political event. In addition, Vance has called for further debates, including one hosted by CNN on September 18. He expressed his enthusiasm via a post on X, stating, “Not only do I accept the CBS debate on October 1st, I accept the CNN debate on September 18th as well. I look forward to seeing you at both.”
The Harris-Walz campaign has yet to provide a statement regarding Vance’s calls for additional debates. Interestingly, September 18 coincides with the scheduled sentencing of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, who faces charges related to falsifying business records in a case linked to payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election cycle.
In a recent letter to the court, Trump’s attorneys requested a postponement of his sentencing until after the upcoming presidential election, as reported by CNN. On September 10, Trump will also participate in a presidential debate against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, hosted by ABC News, further intensifying the political landscape ahead of the election.
