‘Terrible’ Nevada gas station bets on Maricopa

Terrible’s, a convenience store chain based in Paradise, Nevada, is eyeing Maricopa for a new location. The company promises an unconventional gasoline retail experience, as outlined in recent public records.

The proposed site features a 5,500-square-foot convenience store, equipped with ten double-sided fuel pumps and a car wash, positioned at the southeast corner of Porter and Bowlin Roads. If realized, this would mark Terrible’s first venture into central Arizona, expanding its presence beyond existing locations in western Arizona cities such as Kingman, Quartzsite, and Bullhead City.

Terrible’s is notable for operating the world’s largest Chevron station, a 50,000-square-foot facility in Jean, Nevada. This extraordinary location includes a vast beer cave, an impressive array of soda options, and unique boutique items, ranging from towering Bigfoot statues to the iconic Lotus Esprit from James Bond films.

An inquiry about the Maricopa project was made to a Terrible’s representative, but no response has been received thus far.

Notably, Maricopa has seen a surge in gas station proposals recently, with plans for at least three additional stations, including a Circle K situated on the southwest corner of Smith-Enke and Porter Roads.
