David Key Takes the Helm as President & CEO of Greater Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau
The Greater Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau has appointed David Key as its new president and CEO. Key’s appointment signals a strategic move to further bolster Sedona’s economic growth and enhance its tourism appeal.
In a statement, the chamber described Key as “a dynamic leader with extensive experience in nonprofit management, business development, and workforce innovation.” His background is expected to play a crucial role in driving sustainable growth across Sedona’s business and tourism sectors.
Previously, Key served as the director of Business Development at the Tempe Chamber of Commerce, where he developed strategic partnerships with major organizations such as Arizona State University and State Farm. Among his notable contributions was a groundbreaking scholarship program created in collaboration with Amazon and Rio Salado Community College, aimed at upskilling the local workforce.
Mike Wise, chairman of the chamber’s Board of Directors, expressed enthusiasm for Key’s appointment, emphasizing that his commitment to local businesses aligns well with the chamber’s mission. “David’s desire to lead and enthusiasm for entrepreneurship are perfectly aligned with our goals for sustainable economic growth,” Wise stated.
Key holds a degree in business management from Arizona State University. His diverse career includes a decade spent in the entertainment industry as a concert promoter, which has honed his expertise in event management and innovative thinking.
As a recognized leader, Key was named a 2023 “40 Under 40” Emerging Leader by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. His leadership roles extend to the Western Association of Chamber Executives, where he serves as co-chairman for the upcoming 2025 conference.
