‘Copfluencer’ disciplines SR 347 drivers in latest webisodes

The latest episode of “Fridays with Frank” features Deputy Frank Sloup as he addresses speeding violations on State Route 347. Known for his online presence, Sloup’s series has garnered around 433 million views on YouTube, making him a notable figure in the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

In the episode titled “Flying Down the 347,” Sloup addresses numerous complaints regarding speeders. He emphasizes his mission to encourage drivers to obey speed limits, stating, “I want to catch speeders and tell them to slow their roll.” His traffic stops included a Chevrolet Equinox clocking in at 89 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone, a Nissan Sentra going 81 mph with illegally tinted windows, and a Chevy Tahoe that had expired registration.

Last week’s episode, named “I Know More Than You,” highlighted a tense interaction with a BMW driver who challenged Sloup’s authority after allegedly failing to yield to his emergency lights.

In April, Sloup gained further recognition when he was featured on the cover of InMaricopa magazine. The article titled “COPARAZZI: TikTok famous ‘copfluencer’ made his name here” delved into his rise to fame.

His undercover two-tone Dodge Charger has become a common sight in Maricopa, often more familiar to locals than traditional marked patrol cars. Residents have taken to social media to share their encounters with him, including photos of Sloup conducting traffic stops.

On November 21, local resident Brandon Orozco joked about his encounter, saying, “I think he was looking at me!” while sharing a photo of Sloup in action. Another resident, Ciera Powers, posted a picture with Sloup taken at Maricopa’s Gyro Grill on November 19, illustrating his dual role as both officer and community member.
