PHOENIX — The weather in Arizona is expected to remain hot and sunny today, with thunderstorms anticipated in the eastern regions of the state. On Tuesday, the forecast predicts similar conditions; however, moisture moving in from Southeast Arizona may introduce cloudy skies and a potential for showers and storms in South-Central Arizona, particularly from Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.
As temperatures cool slightly on Wednesday, the hotter conditions are likely to persist ahead of Labor Day weekend. Rain chances throughout the week will primarily target higher terrain areas of Arizona.

The Monsoon Meter indicates a rating of 3 for the Mogollon Rim and White Mountains, suggesting moderate monsoon activity.
