AZFEC: Time to Cut Off Arizona’s USAID-Style Slush Fund Flow

President Trump’s administration aimed to bring greater accountability to federal spending with the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Shortly after his inauguration, DOGE identified substantial waste and misallocation of taxpayer funds, particularly within the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Some notable findings include:
- $1.5 million allocated to promote diversity and inclusion in Serbia.
- $2 million spent on gender transition surgeries and LGBT initiatives in Guatemala.
- Funding to EcoHealth Alliance, linked to research at the Wuhan lab.
- $1 million directed to support French-speaking LGBTQ organizations in West and Central Africa.
- $15 million intended for condom distribution to the Taliban via USAID.
This is only a fraction of the expenditures uncovered. Now, concerns have arisen that Arizona may face its own scandal akin to what has been revealed at the federal level.
