Arizona GOP Hits Back at Biden Admin’s Border Material Maneuvers
Arizona Republicans are expressing strong opposition to the outgoing presidential administration’s recent efforts to sell off unused materials intended for the border wall. This move comes just weeks before the anticipated transition of power in January.
According to a report from The Daily Wire, President Biden is working to auction off these wall materials, remnants from the previous Trump administration. The Biden administration halted construction of the wall in early 2021, making it one of his first significant policy changes.
President-elect Donald Trump criticized this decision during a recent press conference, stating, “The (Biden) administration is trying to sell it for five cents on the dollar – knowing that we’re getting ready to put it up.” He described the action as “almost a criminal act.”
Former Arizona Governor Doug Ducey also weighed in, asserting that Biden’s actions are detrimental to border security. He stated, “This decision from President Biden is reckless, will make Arizonans less safe, and should be reversed – immediately.”
In an interview with The Daily Wire, U.S. Congressman Eli Crane echoed these sentiments, suggesting that the Biden Administration is deliberately undermining the incoming president. He questioned, “If it’s true, they’re purposefully hamstringing an incoming president, it wouldn’t be shocking.”
Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen condemned Biden’s actions, labeling them a “slap in the face” to citizens who support secure borders. He emphasized the negative consequences of lax border policies, urging legal action to halt the sale. “I’m hopeful the courts will take action against this sale,” he remarked.
With the inauguration of President Donald Trump set for January 20, Republicans nationwide are seeking legal avenues to challenge the Biden administration’s proposed actions.
