Local Theaters Thrilled by Weekend Surge of Moviegoers

Movie night brought a splash of excitement to Lake Havasu City cinemas this weekend. On Friday, 35-year-old Ryan Cook became the center of attention at Star Cinemas, dressed as Deadpool to celebrate the release of the new Deadpool & Wolverine film.

“I got this costume as a birthday present for myself five years ago,” Cook shared. “Every year I wear it to make sure it still fits.”

This year, Cook’s costume served a dual purpose. “I came here Friday to promote the movie and help the community. I’m letting people know that the theater is still here, while having a little fun,” he added.
