Zesty Zzeek Reveals Exciting Updates on Maricopa’s Dining Scene

The Zzeek’s Pizza chain is set to expand its reach with a new location in Maricopa.

The Chandler-based restaurant, Zzeek’s Pizza, has taken significant steps toward opening its sixth outlet. In April, they submitted the necessary pre-application paperwork to the city, detailing plans for their new establishment on the southeast corner of Honeycutt and Whisker Roads.

A recent public records request revealed insights into the project. A letter from Soaring Eight, a Phoenix architecture firm, outlines a 7,690-square-foot building planned for a one-acre site. Approximately 58% of this space will be allocated to Zzeek’s Pizza, while the remaining 3,200 square feet will accommodate medical and office tenants, although specific tenants have yet to be announced.

The design includes a welcoming patio area for outdoor dining, allowing customers to enjoy their meals in pleasant weather. Zzeek’s aims to operate Sundays through Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. with extended hours on weekends until 10:30 p.m. Customers will have various dining options, including dine-in, takeout, and delivery through services like DoorDash and Uber Eats.

To address traffic concerns, Zzeek’s is collaborating with the City of Maricopa. A proposed new deceleration lane along Honeycutt Drive is intended to improve traffic flow in the area.

The construction will feature a durable concrete masonry structure complemented by long span steel joists and a foam roof, ensuring longevity and quality for future generations. The property owner’s goal is to create a resilient building that withstands the test of time.

Inside, a preliminary floor plan reveals an efficient layout, including a bar area, dining space, and ample kitchen facilities, such as a walk-in freezer and multiple prep areas. Customers will also benefit from self-service soda options and event space.

Outside, the location will provide abundant parking along with landscaping featuring trees, shrubs, and cacti to enhance the ambiance. Zzeek’s Pizza has been a notable presence in the Valley since 2001, recognized for excellent pizza by local publications like East Valley Tribune and Ahwatukee Foothills News. They specialize in wings, hand-tossed crusts, and keto-friendly options.
