Harbor Freight Tools officially opened its doors in Maricopa today, attracting a large crowd eager to find bargains on various tools, including table saws and car jacks. The anticipation was palpable as customers streamed in during the early hours of the morning.

Local residents Nick Ayala and Steven Weisenbach expressed satisfaction with the new store, highlighting the affordability of its products. “I will come here for the prices,” Ayala noted, while Weisenbach added, “I’ve been to many Harbor Freights, and it’s great to finally see one here.”

The store, which covers approximately 16,000 square feet, features a vibrant red and blue exterior, making it a prominent addition to Maricopa’s Edison Place shopping center. General Manager Kevin Miller, overseeing a team of 32 employees, expressed his excitement about the long-awaited store opening. He mentioned the extensive preparations involved in getting the store ready.

Miller acknowledged the competition, with Lowe’s and The Home Depot nearby, but asserted that Harbor Freight offers a wider range of merchandise. “We don’t really compete with any of those,” he said, emphasizing their commitment to serving both novice and experienced tool users alike.

The store location underwent $325,000 in renovations, transforming the former 99 Cents Only store. Harbor Freight had been eyeing Maricopa for years before finally securing this location. Miller reiterated the company’s mission, stating, “Our team is ready to serve and deliver value to customers in Maricopa and all of Pinal County.”

Operating hours are set for 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The opening marks a significant moment for tool enthusiasts in the region, as the new store promises accessibility to a diverse selection of products at competitive prices.

This location was chosen for its visibility, ample parking, and adequate space, according to corporate spokesperson Donna Walker. The grand opening represents a notable milestone for Harbor Freight as it expands its presence in Arizona.
