Slightly cooler Sunday

Clouds and winds are set to increase as the weekend wraps up.

In Phoenix, Sunday will bring slightly cooler temperatures with rising clouds and breezy conditions. Valley highs are expected to hover in the middle to upper 70s, while elevations in the high country will witness temperatures ranging from the 50s to 60s. Flagstaff’s forecast includes a high of 54 degrees amid increasing cloud cover.

By Sunday afternoon, wind conditions will intensify, with southwest gusts reaching up to 35-40 mph in higher desert areas of northern Arizona. Lower desert regions may experience occasional gusts blowing at 15 mph.

Looking ahead to the week, a cold front is anticipated to move through the area, likely remaining dry. However, isolated showers and potentially a few snowflakes could impact regions along and north of I-40, particularly in higher elevations.

On Thanksgiving Day, expect generally pleasant conditions statewide, with lower desert highs near the middle to upper 70s. In contrast, high-country temperatures will be around 50 degrees under a partly cloudy sky. A more substantial opportunity for rain is projected for next weekend.

Here’s a snapshot of the seven-day forecast:

SUNDAY: 78/55 – Clouds increase, slightly cooler

MONDAY: 77/54 – Partly cloudy

TUESDAY: 80/55 – Partly cloudy

WEDNESDAY: 79/60 – Mostly cloudy

THANKSGIVING: 77/56 – Partly cloudy
