History Channel’s Hit Series Eyes Maricopa for Third Fall Filming Adventure
The History Channel’s reality series, American Pickers, filmed scenes in Maricopa last year, yet local residents were unaware of the crew’s presence. Tom Carrera, the show’s lead story producer, confirmed that footage shot in the area ultimately did not appear in the final cut.
While privacy constraints prevent Carrera from revealing specific locations of previous shoots, he noted that scenes were taping across California and Arizona. He added that the team is set to return to Arizona this fall, with Maricopa as a hopeful destination.
“Our goal is to come in November,” he shared, expressing optimism for the filming schedule. Local interest continues as Mike Wolfe, the show’s iconic host, seeks hidden treasures in the region.
Beginning their search in Arizona, the Pickers comb through diverse locations, including garages and barns, in search of valuable collectibles. Carrera emphasized the team’s openness to various items, from vintage motorcycles to unique household objects. “As long as it’s fun and interesting,” he said.
The Pickers focus exclusively on private collections, steering clear of auctions and public venues. This approach allows them to uncover heirlooms that hold significant stories. Arizona, historically rich in collectibles, remains a priority on their itinerary.
The series showcases skilled pickers as they explore America’s antique landscape. According to Carrera, the team is eager to discover historically significant objects and meet remarkable individuals. They aim to breathe new life into unique items, enriching their understanding of American history along the way.
