Yarnell Under Siege: Sheriff Orders Evacuations as Fire Rages
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has issued an emergency evacuation order for residents near Yarnell due to an active fire.
On Monday, authorities instructed residents in the vicinity of Yarnell Elementary School to gather essential belongings and evacuate immediately. The fire poses a significant threat to approximately 14 homes located near Crest Way and Looka Way.
Additionally, residents living to the east and west of the evacuation zone have been placed on “SET” status, meaning they should prepare to evacuate if conditions worsen.
Current estimates indicate the fire spans at least 20 acres and is burning within the area affected by the previous Tenderfoot Fire.
