Young Arizona Republican Surge: The 18-Year-Old Making Waves

By Matthew Holloway |
Nico Delgado, a young Generation Z activist from Arizona, has rapidly emerged as a significant figure in the state’s conservative politics. Even before reaching voting age, he spearheaded election initiatives in his high school and founded ‘NicoPAC’, a political action committee aimed at amplifying conservative voices. His efforts recently included commissioning an early poll for the 2026 Arizona gubernatorial race, showing support for Congressman Andy Biggs, as reported by AZ Free News.
In a recent interview with AZ Free News, Delgado shared insights into his political journey and the driving forces behind his activism.
“My motivation was to save the state I love,” Delgado stated, reflecting on his experiences growing up in Arizona. “Watching the rise of homelessness and crime pushed me to take action, even at a young age.”
The impact of personal tragedy has also shaped his worldview. He recounted losing his mother at the age of 15, which profoundly affected his understanding of issues like drug addiction and mental health. “Her passing opened my eyes to serious national problems,” he explained.
Delgado was candid about his concerns regarding the current Republican leadership. “Before 2024, the party struggled to address corruption for fear of losing support,” he remarked. “However, the MAGA movement demonstrated that taking a stand can lead to success.”
In addition to managing his political efforts, Delgado recently announced his role as a Congressional Intern for Congressman Abe Hamadeh, balancing his studies with active political engagement.
